How Do I Become a Substitute?
HOW DO I BECOME AN LAUSD SUBSTITUTE TEACHER? In order to become a substitute, you must first apply at www.teachinla.com. After going through the recruitment process, you will be placed on an eligibility list to be eligible for employment as a substitute. You will receive instructions from each department in the onboarding process with all requirements and forms that need to be complete before onboarding. Here is a chart of requirements to onboard:

After your onboarding appointment and processing with the credentials unit, you will receive a credential clearance form. At this point, the Substitute Unit will onboard you. After you are processed, you will receive an employee number and a welcome packet.
